The Griffith Foundation Names Mark C. Russell Winner of the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award
MALVERN, Pa. — Mark C. Russell, CPCU, received The Institutes Griffith Insurance Education Foundation’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) Annual Convention on September 24 in San Antonio, Texas.
Candidates for the 2018 Griffith Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award were selected by The Griffith Foundation Leadership Council, which includes insurance leaders, executives and academics. Winners are recognized for their commitment to education and support of the missions of The Griffith Foundation and NAMIC.
“Mark has shown his deep understanding for and commitment to the insurance industry and the education of young learners as they prepare for their future career in the industry. I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award,” said NAMIC president and CEO Charles Chamness.
Russell is President and CEO of Ohio Mutual Insurance Group. He has more than 30 years of broad experience in the property & casualty insurance industry. Prior to joining Ohio Mutual, he served in a variety of senior executive roles at Grange Insurance (Columbus, OH) over an 18 year period.
Russell holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Casualty Claims Law Associate (CCLA), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designations. He serves on the boards of the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio (past president), the Ohio Insurance Institute, and The Institutes, based in Malvern, PA. He also serves as the co-chair of the Insurance Industry Resource Council (IIRC), a collaboration between Ohio Governor John Kasich and the state’s insurance industry. Mr. Russell previously served on and chaired the boards of the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and the Community Shelter Board.
