AIC 300: Claims in an Evolving World

  • Provides students with skills they need to effectively handle claims in today’s evolving world by building their communication and negotiation skills
  • New content includes how to negotiate fair settlements, build trust with claimants to contribute to a positive insurer's reputation, and effectively interview witnesses and experts
  • Students who have completed or will complete AIC 30 (including all segments) by September 15, 2022, will earn credit toward AIC 300

AIC 301: Expanding Your Claims Perspective

  • Provides students with the skills they need to apply insurance policies and coverage to a claim in order for claimants to get a fair settlement
  • New content includes understanding who is legally responsible for damage and injuries to accurately settle a claim, resolution of claim disputes outside of court, and how to clearly communicate with legal professionals to keep the claims process moving
  • Students who have completed or plan to complete CPCU 530 will earn credit toward AIC 301

Students need to complete one elective course focused on their claims specialty:

  • AIC 302: Successfully Evaluating Auto Claims
  • AIC 303: Successfully Evaluating Liability Claims
  • AIC 304: Successfully Evaluating Property Claims
  • AIC 305: Successfully Evaluating Workers Compensation Claims

New content within these courses includes applying the claims process to your specialty area to improve your negotiating position, determining the value of damage so customers get the coverage they deserve, and effectively settling these claims.

The following, expiring AIC courses provide credit toward the above courses if completed or will be completed by the September 15, 2022, testing deadline:

  • AIC 39: Auto Claims Practices earns credit toward AIC 302
  • AIC 32: Liability Claims Practices earns credit toward AIC 303
  • AIC 31: Property Claims Practices earns credit toward AIC 304
  • AIC 44: Workers Compensation Claim Practices earns credit toward AIC 305

What Current Students Need to Know About Expiring Materials

  • Materials for the following AIC courses are expiring: AIC 30, 31, 32, 37, 39, 41, 44, 48, and 49.
  • The deadline to test on current materials is September 15, 2022. Students enrolled in an expiring course must complete it by this date to earn credit toward the AIC designation.
  • This deadline also applies to Segments A, B, and C if completing the AIC 30 exam in segments. All segments must be completed to receive full credit.
  • Credits and waivers vary; students should check their Progress Tracker for more details. Students may see credit toward the new designation path in their Progress Tracker based on the updated AIC path and possible course waivers.
