CPCU in Good Standing
The CE commitment
Every CPCU commits to ongoing professional education as part of the CPCU Code of Conduct. CPCU in Good Standing is a reporting program that tracks continuing education and showcases a CPCU’s commitment to career and industry. Participating CPCUs are included on the CPCU in Good Standing list.
How to Participate
Earn 24 hours in 24 months
Earn 24 hours of credits every two years through The Institutes Designations, The Institutes CPCU Society, CEU, or other qualifying activities.
Qualifying Activities
The Institutes Designations: Online courses, designations, and leadership programs
The Institutes CPCU Society: The Institutes CPCU Society Learning Library, educational events, and webinars
CEU: Any state licensing CE activity, including CEU on-demand courses and CEU live webinars
Additional Activities: Practice-oriented content, employer training, any state licensing CE activity, and education from colleges, universities, or other credentialing providers,
Log your credits
To receive credit, be sure to log your professional development activities in the CPCU in Good Standing Reporting Tool.
Log your credits
Credits earned through The Institutes, CEU, and select CPCU Society offerings are automatically reported in the CPCU in Good Standing Reporting Tool.
Additional activities can be manually entered. One hour of content = one credit hour.
Complete the renewal process
Verify all reported activities to complete the renewal process, and pay the $189 reporting fee per two-year reporting period.
Fee Waiver
CPCU Society members are indeed exempt from the $189 CPCU in Good Standing reporting fee. This waiver is a benefit of CPCU Society membership and is designed to support CPCUs in fulfilling their continuing education requirements.
CE for CPCU Status
Active and ongoing participation in the CPCU in Good Standing program determines a CPCU’s status.
Good Standing: CPCUs who have completed 24 credits within the first two years of earning their designation and/or completed renewals within their ongoing two-year reporting windows.
Not in Good Standing: If a renewal has not been completed before the reporting period ends, the CPCU is considered inactive but still remains a CPCU designation holder.

Check Good Standing Status
Every CPCU commits to continuing education (CE) as part of the CPCU code of conduct. Those who earn 24 credit hours every two years and complete the reporting process are CPCUs in Good Standing and are included in our searchable list. Please note: CPCUs in their first reporting period are considered in Good Standing and some students may not be displayed in the results because they have been marked as private.
Our list also includes CPCUs who are Good Standing Retired. These individuals are retired from the risk and insurance profession and no longer utilizing their designation for commercial or paid purposes. They are no longer required to report 24 CE hours every two years.
