The Advanced Degree Waiver Process
If you have an advanced degree, you may be eligible to receive academic credit toward relevant Institutes programs with comparable subject matter, including CPCU.* You can view the full list of waivers in the Waiver Request Form below. To claim your credit:Â
- Complete the form
- Provide an official transcript for a graduate degree or designation
- Pay a $175 application processing fee, pending waiver approval

MBA & MFA
MBAs or MFAs can waive CPCU 540: Contributing to Insurer Financial Performance, which is one of five core CPCU courses.
Law Degree
Lawyers can waive CPCU 530: Applying Legal Concepts to Insurance, which is one of five core courses.
CPA & CFA
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)s or Charter Financial Analysts can waive the CPCU elective requirement.
