The Institutes Knowledge Group helps people build foundational, technical, and leadership skills to stay ahead of evolving trends in risk management and insurance. We offer more than 25 practical Institutes Designations, including CPCU®, all focused on the business of risk management and insurance.
Exam Testing Windows
We offer exams in four testing windows throughout the year:
- Quarter 1 – January 15th – March 15th
- Quarter 2 – April 15th – June 15th
- Quarter 3 – July 15th – September 15th
- Quarter 4 – October 15th – December 15th
You can complete your exam at any time in the testing window that you registered for. Access your exam from your Institutes account when the window opens, and complete any time until 11:59 p.m. ET on the final day of the window.**
**Exam windows that close on weekends will be extended to the following business day.

Step 3: Apply Online
Prior to purchasing course materials and exams, there are two things you'll need to do.
- If you don't have an account with us, create an Institutes Account Profile.
- Begin an application for a Letter of Credit (LOC) through EdAssist. If you need assistance with your application, please contact the EdAssist Employee Services team at EdProvider@EdAssist.com.
Please note: If you begin an application and need to make changes, you can do so with the help of an EdAssist Employee Services team member as long as the payment has not been made.

What is EdAssist?
EdAssist is an employer-sponsored benefit that helps eligible employees plan, pay for, and succeed at future education goals. The benefit is exclusively available to employees whose companies offer EdAssist as a benefit.

How do I know if I am eligible to submit an application to use my tuition benefits?
Before you apply to your program, be sure you qualify. Contact EdAssist through your Human Resource Benefits Portal and review your education benefits policy and participant instructions.

What if I need help with my EdAssist application?
You can submit and check the status of your applications 24 hours a day, seven days a week via the EdAssist portal.
You can submit a support ticket online via the Support form.
You can also submit a live chat to a Customer Service Representative Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET.
If you have a question or comment about a particular application, please use the application comments function to add notes directly on the application in question.

How can I check the status of the approval of my EdAssist application?
After submitting your application, you will be notified in the EdAssist application portal and an email will be sent to your email account that your application has been received. You will receive a system-generated email sent to your account whenever your application status changes. You may also check the status of your application in the EdAssist portal 24/7.
Follow these simple steps:
Speak with your employer benefits department about your education benefits amount, eligibility requirements, and process.
Obtain any necessary documents from EdAssist to submit to (Provider Name). Speak with an Enrollment Coach – Fill out the Request for Information Form to learn more about designation courses, Micro-certs, topic courses, etc.
Complete your (Provider Name) application/account – click here to (create account or apply) Enroll in program – work with an Enrollment Coach to ensure you are cleared and ready to enroll. Provide any necessary documents to your benefits department.
